Just a few test shots I posted on Tumblr then decided to post here to prove I'm not being lazy cosplay wise! Please excuse my crappy webcam. I'm quite excited to cosplay U-1224. He's another character I need to make myself kinda pale for, but hopefully I'll get the hang of the make up so I don't look gray in flash photos. I'm also trying to get used to my new color lenses--which are sadly much too dark for him but I'm hoping that I can either find something else that's cheapish and lighter or that these will magically appear brighter gray in the sun. I made both the Iron Cross and the ribbon.
U-1224 will be debuted at Kitacon 3. I only know of one other person cosplaying from this series at this con, so hopefully we'll find one another on Friday! I originally was only going to make the sailor uniform he appears in as a child and in one other illustration as an adult, but I've become too tempted to make his official uniform. Luckily I still have two weeks to finish everything...!
Oh, thank you! The curl took a few attempts styling wise, but overall I'm quite happy with it too. Thanks again for the comment~! It means a lot coming from another U-1224 cosplayer. I love the photos you have with your I-8 in your gallery!
I hardly call myself talented, let alone a pro. That 'talent' is actually just a lot of practice. Trial and error, remaking and repairing. I try and make myself improve with each costume, starting things that might not work, but trying anyways. Like what was said in Ratatouille "Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can become great."
So don't sell yourself short. There's no such thing as being, or not being, "cosplay material." Of course you won't become an expert seamstress/wig stylist/make up artist over night, but if you don't take that first step then how will you know what you're capable of? If you want to do it, then just do it! You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it.

It kind of has a mind of it's own once in a while, but it's floofy and wavy so it suits him, I'd like to think~.
Its Grrrreeaaatt----
I cant wait to see the overall of this~~
Hopefully I'll get some photos of it at the con!
And I cant wait to see the pictures when they come out~ > u <
Do your best
